Artist L Baines was raised in New York City, surrounded in an atmosphere of art. Following her education at NYU, she traveled through Argentina and Brazil, developing a love of South American art, culture, and lifestyle. Her experiences there had a great influence on her paintings, especially her earlier works. Much of her inspiration was also found in her appreciation of architectural homes, and the use of classic modern art to accent those dwellings. Paintings that brough light, color, and abstraction to linear spaces. Casual Moments is an excellent example of these influences, using bold, yet muted colorscapes to bring warm swatches of color into your living space.
